The Martin 0-28 was an early guitar coming out of the American workshops of Fredric Martin. One can see the influence of the of the Viennese school in it’s size and shape. And it would of been a familiar pattern to him when he worked at the Stauffer factory before his emigration to America.

The back braces have a 16 foot/ 5m radius to facilitate later doming of the back

The bookmarked rosewood back has now been grafted and braced

The braces are now scalloped
The lower asymmetric braces provide extra stiffness to the treble side of the guitar ensuring a more brilliant response to the higher tonal frequencies

First the square braces are tapered

The position of the X-bracing was moved forward, on most Martin guitars in 1955 into what is known as the forward shifted position but in order to maintain the authentic sound of this guitar it will remains in it’s original position.
